Why this course?
Strathclyde Business School has been delivering the Strathclyde MBA on an executive (part-time) basis via our international centres since 1988. We’ve successfully offered and developed the MBA in the UAE since 1995.
The MBA course will shape and guide you as a reflective, open- thinking, adaptive learner. This is facilitated through an enhanced understanding of the interplay of theory and practice in management. In particular it:
- provides the skills required for progression to higher level policy-forming positions
- allows you to make successful career transitions
- facilitates the move from technical specialism to general management
- polishes the skills and enhances the abilities of people working for themselves or about to set up in business
*Financial Times European Business School rankings 2020
In addition to its UK campus, Strathclyde Business School has eight international centres located around the globe, all of which offer the Strathclyde Executive MBA. In the UAE, we have a Dubai centre, and since opening our doors back in 1995, we have graduated over 1000 MBA students from our centres.
The Strathclyde Executive MBA is a two year part-time, taught programme which is in all respects identical to the UK full-time MBA - the same entry criteria, programme content, assessment and core learning materials, and is taught by the same Strathclyde academics who teach in Glasgow. The programme holds all three international accreditations (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB), is accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (CAA), and is consistently ranked in the Financial Times (FT) Executive MBA rankings.
We're a triple-accredited business school: the first business school in Scotland to hold this accolade, and one of only 102 in the world (August 2020, MBA Today), to be triple-accredited, holding accreditation from the international bodies, AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS.
The MBA has also been accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research.
Alumni
There are hundreds of MBA and MSc alumni who have passed through the Dubai centre. These graduates comprise an active core of the University of Strathclyde UAE Alumni Association. This also includes Strathclyders from other programmes and campuses who now live in the UAE.
The alumni group has a LinkedIn page and coordinates regular events and initiatives to allow networking, continued education, career progression, and community outreach.
You don't know what you really don't know until you join the Strathclyde Business School MBA.
I have one word to say in terms of Strathclyde. For me, it is transformation. Strathclyde has changed my life dramatically. It was one of the main milestones in my life. Beyond the academic benefits, it's changed me personally in terms of leadership skills and progression, which has come across to all my colleagues that I have worked with.
My name is Nora Abu Sali. I graduated from the MBA programme at Strathclyde Business School in 2021, and I wanted to share with you all that this was a pivotal learning journey for me. It's definitely helped me sharpen my skills, increased my confidence, and raised my standards all around.
My advice to you is to be curious, be creative, and challenge yourself. Take on every project as a real-life business case and be creative in solving it. It'll definitely broaden your perspective throughout your MBA journey. Throughout my journey, I was able to better myself as a professional and as a leader. So my advice to you is to take the opportunity to explore and work on your areas of development, capitalize on your strength, and make sure you challenge yourself.
Things can get challenging at times, but as Confucius said, it does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you keep going.
Although complex and intensive in nature, I recommend that the students make best use of the MBA programme given that it exposes them to useful theory, comprehensive business topics and real case studies.
